Our Story
Elkington Childcare Consultancy (formerly Elkington Management) has evolved from the services provided by Karen Elkington, the owner of the business and a true industry expert.
As our National Operations Manager and Business Founder, Karen oversees a hand-picked team of experienced childcare consultants who offer consultancy services and on-site management support to childcare centres around Australia.
Karen’s impressive career in the childcare industry spans 30 years and has taken her around Australia, New Zealand and Japan. She has amassed a wealth of experience in childcare centre start-ups and fit-outs, centre transfers, and childcare business management and consultancy. Karen’s experience and passion for early childhood services resulted in her launching her childcare management business in 2013.
Throughout the years, Karen has worked with a wide range of clients and their business portfolios, including airport corporations, Brisbane City Council, Crèche and Kindergarten Association of Australia, Red Cross Australia, corporate childcare and acquisition industry leaders. She has also worked closely with new childcare centre start-ups, development projects and centres within large corporate parks, hospitals and CBD office buildings.
Karen and the team also really enjoy working with smaller clients and passive investors who share our passion for providing extremely high-quality education, care and facilities for children and families of local communities.

Service Area
Based in Brisbane, Queensland, we work with clients around Australia. Our consultants travel to all states and territories to visit childcare centres and provide hands-on support and guidance, while working remotely with childcare services for assistance with day-to-day operations.
Our services range from assistance with the purchase, transfer or development of a childcare centre to the ongoing day-to-day operational management of the centre and everything in between.
